Beyond the Comfort Zone – (Open to transformations)

Many poets and philosophers have often cited that the Young Prince of Ayodhya turned into Maryada Purushottam as a result of taking the Journey beyond comforts. (Ram vaan gaye tho baan gaye)

All our current best versions have expiry dates and new best versions are waiting to be embraced just beyond the comfort zones. We should be ready to explore new experiences and evolve as Lord Ram did throughout his journey.

As leaders we often find solace in our comfort zones, or just within slight extensions of our comfort zones. Very rarely we venture into zones which are completely beyond or drastically different. What is interesting to note is that many of us have achieved success in the first place because in the past we were the pioneers, risked it all and ventured into new territories. However, over the time, we got defensive and decided not to risk it any longer and started giving the common excuse ‘let’s not disturb the apple cart’.

In this VUCA world, as leaders we should be open to venture beyond our comfort zones in every possible occasion. We must be open to the idea of transformation on daily basis. Only those organizations/leaders are going to survive which are open to new experiences and evolve constantly.
