As an Individual what defines us is not the number of the materialist possessions we have or the title which we posses at our offices but the number of admirers we have because of our humility and humane nature. So why is it that as we gain success our humility diminishes ?
“Cruelty is a instinct in animals but a choice in Humans – Its humility that makes us Humane” ~ K Srini
So what attributes or qualities of Hanumanji can help us to make our life immortal (‘Contributions towards Life’) rather than being judged by the age old formula of Successful Life.
Successful Life has always been defined/measured in the form of what has been achieved materialistically in this lifetime or may be in what we have accomplished in terms of goodwill, or how happy we were in this journey, or how many friends we had, or how much wealth we were able to accumulate for next generations and so on. The essence of the above definition is ‘I, Me, and Myself’. There is nothing wrong in the above definition as there is no one way nor one definition to describing Successful Life.
But we can change the barometer from ‘I, Me, Myself’ and ‘Achievements’ to ‘Others’ and ‘Conduct’ then the outlook is completely different.
Conduct is mainly our behaviour/outlook towards others. Conduct is bit more complicated than just behaviour as we dig deeper. A deeper perspective towards it would be, ‘HOW WE CONDUCTED OURSELVES’ throughout our lifetime, especially, ‘WHEN WE HAD NO POWER / WEALTH / SUCCESS’ and vis-a-vis ‘WHEN WE HAD POWER / WEALTH / SUCCESS’.
Why is this so important? because it shows how solid we are on our core ethos towards life and our fellow beings.
Hanumanji is a classic example who does not change with the awareness of Power in himself but made himself more responsible by not only having a meaningful purpose for self but ensuring that he becomes useful for others.
